8.00 Transfer to Tver (~ 176 km). The city is said to be found in 1182 by prince Vsevolod of the Big Nest, the prince of Vladimir-Suzdal, who built the Tver Kremlin, at the mouth of the T'maka River. Tver has always been Moscow's principal rival in the battle for domination among russian cities. It was always frequented by Russian royalty and nobility. After the great fire of 1763, the city was rebuilt in Neoclassical style. Under Catherine the Great, the downtown was thoroughly reconstructed. |

14.00 Historical centre sightseeing tour including a trip to Uspensky Cathedral of the Otroch Monastery, the monument to Afanasiy Nikitin, merchant and traveler who was the first European to travel to India in the 15th century, to the Travel Palace of the Empress (designed by the celebrated Matvei Kazakov, the Ascension church (designed by Prince Lvov and consecrated in 1813), Alexander Pushkin monument and a monument to famous russian fabulist Ivan Krylov; you will also get acquainted with the city's development system, which is similar to that of St. Petersburg and Rome. |

8.30 Breakfast. Transfer to Torzhok — a famous centre of gold embroidery (~ 40 км) and a key to Novgorod Republic which is situated on the Tvertsa River. First it was called Noviy Torg, meaning “new market”, and later the name was shortened to Torzhok. In Russian chronicles Noviy Torg was first mentioned in 1015. |

10.00 City sightseeing tour including a trip to the old monastery of Sts. Boris and Gleb, the Ascension Church (17-18th centuries), the town council and market rows (18-19 centuries), and to the house museum of Pushkin. |
